Rajasthani leather products have a distinct style characterised by intricate  embroidery, colourful designs and, of course, good quality camel leather.  These products range from shoes, purses, wallets, etc. Local men and  women  of Rajasthan are trained in the art of leather work. While men do  the tanning, cutting and stitching, the women are experts with embroidery,  appliqué and sequence work.  
Various cities of Rajasthan are famous for various leather products. Jaipur  and Jodhpur are known for leather shoes. Bikaner is known for inlay work  (minakari) in gold and silver on camel leather and camel-hide water  bottles.
